The Des Bio series therapy treatment works with the body so that the body itself is doing the killing of the pathogens. It is an immunological treatment. With traditional antibiotic therapy, you are taking a substance which kills all bacteria. This includes good bacteria, along with bad bacteria like Lyme. It does not discriminate what it kills, and is not specific for just the Borrelia itself. Research has not found anything like that just yet. Antibiotic therapy is tricky because its lengthy so you do a lot of damage in that time, and depending on how sensitive your body is it might not be the best choice. I think everyone has to carve their own path & make their own decisions. For some high dose antibiotics are wonderful. For me, my stomach can’t handle it. Once I knew my stomach was going to rebel against any & all antibiotics (and even some herbs), I knew I had to try a different approach.
So how does the immunological treatment work then? The biggest issue is that it evades the immune system. This is why you can’t cure many diseases on your own the way you do the common cold. With a cold you get the bacteria, get sick, but then your immune system kicks in and takes care of it. Same with a virus like the flu.. once again, your immune system targets the pathogen and takes it out. The trouble with Lyme disease is that it hides from the immune system. Not only that, but its smart enough to actually trick your immune system into not making antibodies for Lyme (therefore not getting attacked). So the disease is able to single handedly travel through your body, reproducing and drilling into tissue. If it wasn’t for its ability to hide from the immune system so well, it wouldn’t cause the damage it does.
The idea behind this is to get the immune system to recognize the Borrelia bacteria again, and start to attack. Our immune system is incredibly strong, it just needs to have the guidance to know what to kill or not to kill. This is where the role of the Series Therapy comes in. Each dose of treatment has essentially a form of inactive Borrelia DNA in it. As you take the dose, the body will recognize this new invader and create specialized peptides and antibodies to attack all Borrelia. This means, suddenly the immune system is awakened and the new antibodies are finally able to see the Borrelia that is all throughout the body and kills it. Each dose that is in the series in a different strength & frequency. This is done very carefully so that its ability to target the bacteria is as accurate as it can get.
You might be asking, “But won’t the Borrelia just deactivate these antibodies too?” The answer is yes, it will. However it can’t do it instantly. And that is why you pulse the doses (taken every 3 days). So just as the antibodies kill a round of Borrelia, they might get deactivated, but you then take another dose with a different frequency and the process begins again.
You see, the way antibodies work is that when the body sees a foreign invader it creates this antibody. It has a very specific code which sniffs out and finds Borrelia, attaches to it, and essentially starves or kills it. Now, in the case of Borrelia it has the ability to learn this code and morph so it can’t be found. THIS is how it evades the immune system from being able to detect it. What’s wonderful about this series therapy and how it works is its formulated to create different antibodies with each dose…aka different codes. Just as the Borrelia might learn one, it gets hit with another.
You also might be asking, “How can this get into the biofilm, or in the blood brain barrier?” The answer to this is also simple. Antibodies can travel everywhere. They are in your blood. Same with the peptides it creates. This can easily go into the blood brain barrier. They also penetrate the biofilms created very much the same way. There is nowhere that antibodies can’t go.
The Des Bio series therapy comes in a box with 10 vials. You take one vial every third day. This means one round (or series) takes 30 days. Sometimes though if the herx is too strong it can be spread out to take a little longer. When I talk about treatment I talk about vials for that reason. You take the vials 1-10 then next series is done 10-1 and the next is again 1-10 and so on and so forth.
The treatment is exactly the same with the Bartonella. As of 2015, more than a year after I finished the Bartonella treatment, I have had multiple Bartonella tests (3 separate cultures, DNA tests, antibody & Fry smear), and they have ALL come back clear and negative.
I hope this explained my treatment to anyone who had questions. I feel very strongly in this, because I believe it is incredibly cutting edge in how it works. It goes beyond what any antibiotic therapy can do. And so far from what we have learned about Lyme, it is an incredibly smart disease. Always one step ahead of the game. Also, many new treatment approaches now work to actually detox and strengthen the immune system itself, and the treatment is done that way. I can however tell a big difference in how I feel now as compared to before I began this treatment. It really has been my saving grace. Its an incredibly gentle treatment, with the only side effects being the herxes themselves. Which, yes they are absolutely horrible.. but it’s nice that the treatment itself does not come with a laundry list of side effects & issues. This was very important to me, since I am incredibly fragile. Another benefit of this treatment is the ability to manage the herx and speed. There are some people who take only half a vial at a time, to as low as 3 drops at a time. The doses can also be spread out further than 3 days, so it never gets to be too much. It works just as adequately this way, and can help those very sensitive individuals
